Elie Wiesel (1928-2016) was a human rights activist and author.

 His most famous book, Night, is a memoir of surviving a concentration camp. “There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.” – Elie Wiesel

Wiesel helped establish the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and campaigned on behalf of human rights in places like Sudan, South Africa, and Kosovo.

Wiesel acknowledges that while we can’t always stop injustice, we must always oppose it.
