ARC (Antiracist Conversations) hosted a fact-driven, historical Read-Around and Discussion Event that resonated with the 2025 Black History Month theme: “African Americans and Labor.”

During the event, we showcased and engaged in conversations about the exceptional contributions of Black men and Black women to the rich tapestry of America, such as Carter G.Woodson, Lisa Nichols,Katherine Johnson, Elizabeth Keckley, Shirley, Chisholm, Nikole Hannah-Jones, James Weldon Johnson, J. Rosamond Johnson, and several other prominent African-American Inventors. Additionally, we shared facts about Butter Pecan Ice-Cream and the “Negro Motorist Green Book, started in 1936 by Harlem postman Victor Green. You are encuraged to pursue your own research of the above menmtioned African-American scholars, and learn about the incredible contributions that they, along with many others, have made to the fabric of America.

No one can wipe away Black History…our legacy…with a mere stroke of a pen. Black History is an integral part of American History, and we proudly carry our heritage every day.
