Workplace Bias

Greetings, members, and friends of our Antiracist. Jubilee.Symposia.Our focus today will be on “Workplace Bias.”

It’s a pleasure to introduce our guest speaker/trainer.

Shonte Clay-Fulgham is married and a mother of two young people.

She is fairly fluent in Spanish.

Shonte studied Multicultural Studies at the University of Minnesota but received a Bachelor’s in Communications from Missouri Southern with a minor in Spanish and Master’s in Sports Management from Pittsburg State.

In 2018, she began working for Missouri Southern in the Athletics Department and then took on the additional role of Diversity Coordinator, assisting the University Leadership Board of Governors, and the University President with perceived training, school surveys, events, and mandatory task forces.

Their “We Are One” slogan was born from many of these reports in 2020.

This fed into her role as Diversity Chair with the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce and initiated the “You Belong” within the Joplin business community. Shonte has received several certifications under the umbrella of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), and Facilitation; Franklin Covey Unconscious Bias, Safe Zone, and Equity & Diversity Facilitation from the University of Minnesota to name a few.

Some of her more popular training options include: Super Allyship, Super Advocate, Workplace Equity, Microaggressions, Cultural Competency and Awareness, Unconscious Bias, Cultural Bias, Inclusivity in its entirety, Equality vs. Equity, and this list will continue to grow. ”

Today,  in this virtual space, we are extremely sure that Shonte will guide us in understanding, Workplace Bias.
