Juneteenth, 2021…First Year Organizational Anniversary for our Antiracist Group/Recap

June 13, 2021

It’s time to celebrate!  Mark your calendar.    Join us as we celebrate the first year anniversary of our group, AntiRacist.Jubilee.Symposia. (Celebrate.Educate.Cultivate).

It is with such  love and gratitude that I share a word of sincere appreciation to the organizational team of “AntiRacist.Jubilee.Symposia (Celebrate.Educate.Cultivate.

The team includes, Ivy, Zoi, Paul, Eleanor and Jason.

Ivy and Zoi are my granddaughters!

Many of you, from our MoveOn family have been so very loyal to the cause and, extremely supportive. We are humbly grateful!

One of our defining statements, on June 19, 2020 was, “Juneteenth” is a rare moment for communities to proclaim, in one voice, that Black Lives Matter, and that we won’t tolerate anything less than justice for all our people. “

We organized on the cusp of the murder of George Floyd. You know the story. You participated in the rallies. You supported us, throughout the nation. Thank you!! We have not, nor will we relent from our vision and objectives.

Our  AntiRacist.Jubilee.Symposium platform is one where we will continue to celebrate our history and the many contributions that African-Americans have made to this nation. We will continue educating ourselves and inviting others to do the same, as we strive to break down racist barriers, one event, one speaker, one story at a time.  With the reality that we are most powerful together, we will continue cultivating partnerships with many others.

Today, one year later, June 2021, we are focused and moving forward.

For our June 13,2021 event, we are most grateful to  Joy Davis, friend, Texan, Activist, and MoveOn Member,  for being strategic in securing the keynote speakers, from Texas, for this very important event. Our team member, Paul, confirmed the  Multimedia Journalist and Anchor for this special event.

I’ve included snippets of their incredible bios for each participant. Please note their photos in the announcement. You don’t want to miss this event!

The  gathering, on June 13, was so edifying, and it exceeded our expectations in so many positive and encouraging ways.

Friends, old and new, from the MidAtlantic Region of the East Coast,  the Midwest,Southwest,The West Coast, The East Coast and part of the Rocky Mountains, joined this important event.

With support from his parents,  we are so proud to announce that Jaden Jefferson is the newest team member of our group, AntiRacist.Jubilee.Symposia.

This review quote is from Representative Ron Reynolds, June 13, 2021.

“Today I was honored to participate in the Anti Racist Jubilee Symposium.  I served on a panel with activist Daniel J. Cohen, Joy Davis  and Jaden Jefferson a young journalist and anchor that has gone viral. Congrats to the organizers on such a productive discussion! #TeamReynolds.”

A sincere  thank you to  our Mobilize to Win Leader and friend, Sana Shadid for her wonderful support and incredibly encouraging statement. June 13, 2021

“ I kicked off my Sunday, today with one of the most wonderful gatherings put on by MsEveej the Anti Racist Jubilee Symposium, which featured all of my favorite Houston heroes: Ms.. Joy Davis (a POWERHOUSE of an organizer who I’d trust with my life), Daniel J. Cohen (who always always always shows up for our communities), Jaden Jefferson (a 13 year old mega star) & everyone’s favorite Rep. Ron Reynolds

It absolutely gave me life, seeing folks from all over the country join to hear what these Houstonians have to say & show support in protecting democracy in Texas. it was so special. & like ms. Joy Davis said: “if our votes didn’t matter, every single one of them, they wouldn’t be working so hard to take them away.”

local organizing is going to save us all.”

With so much gratitude!
