Racism in a Divided America

No doubt!  It’s perfectly clear that we are a nation that is extremely divided. When we take a hard look at our nation, as Americans, we have the choice to “just’ talk about the divisions, or proactively, and peacefully do something about the divisions. One key aspect of our division, I believe, is that we don’t communicate, well. We can change that trend.

Many thanks to our  Antiracist_Jubilee_Symposia  team, Ivy, Zoi, and Paul, for helping lead the organizational structure of our event, as we continue our collective journey to breaking barriers of racism and learning what it means to be an Antiracist.

We are indebted to our March 21, 2021 discussion group leaders.  Dr. Pam Black, Dr. Kay Brocato, Business Owner, Casey McKenzie, and Musician, Matthew Witten.

Our goal was to center our conversations,  specifically, with White People talking with White People, and to focus on the varying factors that have shaped their worldviews, in terms of racism/antiracism. The event was a success.  We will have many more conversations, in the days to come.

Each segment of our meeting was academically structured, and styled to purposely prepare attendees for writing their personal autobiographies and increasing their understanding of specific vocabulary related to racism, antiracism, etc.

Those areas are key aspects of dismantling racism. We are in the beginning stages of self-reflection, truth, and education.

Our ongoing plan is to take our message far and wide so that it touches every corner of our nation,  one person, one story, and one event at a time.

During our event, on March 21, 2021, friends and guests from Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, New York, and Texas were part of our discussion groups.

As we strive to improve conversations about race, antiracism, racism, etc., our challenge, to each person, is  to be vulnerable and begin thinking about

Where you are on this journey of racism/antiracism. We want to break down barriers, one truth, one meeting, one person, and one self-reflective story at a time. Our conversations, with others, will flourish and create opportunities for us to help many in their journeys toward Antiracism.
